It's been about six weeks since I (we, rather) became proud owners of an old truck that needs a LOT of work.
Since I shared photos of the interior and listed out what I needed to do next, I'm happy to report, despite booking myself for 30 events in three months, we're making progress. And yes, you read that right. 30 events. I'm on a mission and while it might be an extremely tiring season of my life, I know it's possible and won't last forever.
Our most important of our list was new branding. The branding I've been using for the last decade has had slight modifications but for the most part, didn't change much. I wanted something that was simple yet impactful. Something that could be used for everything from the tiniest of tags to a huge graphic on the side of the truck. My husband John and I worked on and tossed around ideas for a few weeks, but ultimately we choose what you see today. And honestly, I couldn't be more in love with it.
Coming up with new branding is just one part of the equation and transformation. It's the little things like ordering new stickers, bags, business cards & updating the website that was equally, if not more, time-consuming!
The next large task we chose to tackle and was obviously a huge priority was to figure out the design of the wrap. When I say we probably mocked up over 50 different designs, I'm not exaggerating. The wrap on the exterior of the truck is so important because it's going to obviously be the first thing customers see.
A lot of research went into the design process and we started with finding trucks that already existed that had design elements we liked.
Let me back up a bit by saying I had always envisioned my truck to be pink. It's my absolute favorite color and I just couldn't imagine it being any other hue.
So to get an idea of what it would look like, I took an existing photo and photoshopped it. It wasn't meant to be perfect, but gave me enough of an idea to confirm that yep, it's going to be pink for sure!
Here's the original photo:
From there, John just started creating different wrap concepts. Here are a few of the final contenders but as I had mentioned, we probably went through about 50 ideas altogether!
This was honestly one of the hardest decisions to date. I was so torn between several designs, so I thought "Why not ask my customers what which one they like best?"
So I did.
The feedback was so incredibly helpful and because of it, we ended up merging the top two designs chosen by friends and customers and went with it.
I CAN'T WAIT to show you what it looks like!
